Eggs are the purchase, disguise, and hatching layer of Fake an Egg. In the ordinary collection loop, you inspect an egg in the public yard, decide whether its displayed cost and rarity fit your cash, carry a purchased egg to your pen, place it on an open nest, and wait for it to hatch into a pet. The twist is that another player can be disguised as an egg, so a familiar label does not guarantee that the object is safe to buy.

Use this hub to choose the next egg without pretending that a partial community list is a permanent database. The game’s official description confirms disguise and pet theft, while current walkthroughs supply dated examples of labels, prices, timers, nests, scanners, and Index entries. Exact pools, odds, and values can change after an update.

Compare rarity tiers

Read the floating label before buying

Current community walkthroughs show egg labels that can include a name, rarity, cash price, and timer. Read all four from the same egg and server. A name copied from an older video can still exist while its price or timer has changed. A rarity label tells you where the game currently groups that egg; it does not by itself reveal the pet’s exact income, mutation outcome, or chance of appearing.

Make the decision in this order: confirm the object name, check whether you can afford it without emptying your useful reserve, match the rarity to any scanner you intend to use, and confirm that your pen has an open nest. If a high-tier spawn timer is visible in the yard, decide whether buying now would leave too little cash for the upcoming opportunity.

Do not infer hidden odds from a short countdown or from how often one server produced a label. Spawn frequency, hatch duration, purchase price, and pet rarity are separate fields. Record them separately in any comparison.

Higher-tier examples

Walkthroughs show names such as Llama, Parrot, Hyena, Bull, Wolf, Crocodile, and T-Rex, but the combined list is not guaranteed complete or current.

The Egg Index expands these records and shows how to capture a useful live entry without copying an incompatible value from another session.

Buy, carry, and hatch cleanly

Walk close enough for the current interaction prompt to appear, then buy only after verifying the label and—if appropriate—using a scanner that covers that rarity. The purchase turns the egg into something you carry. Take it directly to the fenced pen marked for your account rather than stopping in another player’s space.

Inside your pen, move to an unoccupied nest circle and use the displayed drop or placement prompt. A countdown should begin. Wait for the timer to finish, then follow the current placement prompt if the new pet is not activated automatically. Open the Pets or Slots view to confirm whether it is active and contributing income.

If no prompt appears, check whether you are holding the egg, standing at your own pen, and facing an empty nest. Move away and approach again before rejoining. If the timer finishes but the pet is missing, inspect the Pets menu and pen slots before buying a replacement.

Real eggs, disguised players, and scanners

The official premise says players can disguise themselves as eggs. Recent walkthroughs show a scanner system intended to identify real eggs before purchase. Scanner stock, cost, tier coverage, and Rebirth requirements are update-sensitive and disagree across guides, so use the live Scanners stall as the deciding source.

A scanner does not make every decision automatic. Match its supported rarity to the egg’s label, equip the tool, approach the egg, and use the displayed Scan interaction. Community footage shows a green REAL result for a successful genuine check. Do not assume an absent result means fake; it may mean wrong tier, range, stock, tool selection, or a changed interface. The Scanner Guide covers that troubleshooting path.

Spend for progression, not for color alone

A more expensive egg can be a useful upgrade, but compare the resulting pet’s displayed income under the same boosts. Rarity and price do not replace the rate shown by the game. If you are close to a Rebirth cash requirement, an extra purchase can delay the reset even when the egg looks attractive.

Keep a small reserve for scanner stock, food, or the next planned egg. Use the Money Guide to compare time-to-afford, and the Pet Income Guide to judge whether the hatched pet actually improves an active slot.

During an event, separate the launch window from persistent content. A Halloween-labelled egg or rarity may remain after the scheduled event, disappear, or move to another source. Record the current source and date rather than calling it permanently available.

Egg checklist for a current server

  1. Confirm the exact game through Place ID 97289366402005.
  2. Read the egg’s name, rarity, price, and timer from one live label.
  3. Check the high-tier yard timers before committing cash.
  4. Match your scanner tier if you plan to scan.
  5. Confirm an open nest in your own pen.
  6. Carry the purchased egg directly home and start the countdown.
  7. Verify the new pet in the Pets or Slots menu.
  8. Record the date and active boosts before comparing income.

Egg questions

Is there a complete egg list?

Not in the reviewed official material. The index on this site is a currently documented list based on dated walkthrough evidence, not a promise that every live egg is included.

Does a higher rarity guarantee more cash?

Recent guides generally show higher tiers as more expensive progression targets, but the useful comparison is the pet’s displayed rate under the same conditions. Rarity alone is not a rate.

Can another player look like an egg?

Yes. Disguising as an egg is part of the official premise. Use observation and the current scanner system rather than trusting appearance alone.
