Fake an Egg Disguise Guide

Use Fake an Egg disguises by entering the selection menu, choosing an unlocked egg, positioning in the yard, waiting with a limit, and exiting safely.

Disguising is one half of Fake an Eggโ€™s official premise: become an egg, wait for another player, and use the opening created by their attention. Recent walkthroughs show a green pipe in your pen opening a Select Disguise menu, followed by a USE action and a prompt to blend into the central yard. Verify those labels in the current build.

Enter the disguise menu

Return to your own pen and locate the green pipe or current disguise entry. Approach it until the interaction opens the selection menu. Review unlocked egg forms and any payout shown on the card. Do not assume every form is available from the start or that an old payout remains current.

Choose a form you recognize from the yard and use the current confirmation. If the avatar does not transform, close and reopen the menu, check the unlock requirement, and make sure another action is not interrupting it.

Choose a believable position

Move to the public egg area and observe how ordinary eggs are spaced. Stop where your chosen form would plausibly appear without blocking a path or overlapping another object. Keep the camera ready to watch approaching players while minimizing unnecessary movement.

No universal visual tell was verified. Shadows, nameplates, motion, aura, and alignment can change with graphics settings or updates. Treat appearance tips as observations, not guaranteed detection rules.

Wait with an exit plan

Set a time limit before you settle. Community guides report that a disguise can pay when another player or bot buys it, but waiting indefinitely can be worse than hatching, claiming Index rewards, or attempting a planned raid.

Know how to end the disguise using the current UI. If the exit control is unclear, test it near your pen before committing to a long wait. Do not assume that being bought always produces the same payout or position afterward.

Use the information you gain

Even when nobody buys the disguise, observe traffic between pens, owners who leave valuable pets unattended, and routes that remain clear. That information can support a later theft. Avoid moving repeatedly just to attract attention; movement can reveal your position and gives you poor evidence about whether the form itself worked.

If another player appears to test or scan you, decide whether to exit rather than waiting for an unfavorable interaction. The scanner mechanic is designed around distinguishing genuine eggs, so a disguised player should expect counterplay.

Compare disguise sessions

Record the chosen form, displayed payout, yard position, server population, wait duration, whether a player or bot approached, whether a scanner appeared, and the final outcome. Repeat only under similar conditions before deciding that one form or location works better.

A failed wait does not prove the disguise is bad: traffic may have been low or nearby eggs may have offered better value. A single purchase also does not prove a guaranteed payout or success rate. Keep the observation tied to its server and check date.

Use a simple stop rule, such as one yard cycle or a fixed number of minutes, then return to active progression. This keeps disguise testing from consuming the entire session when buying eggs, claiming Index rewards, or improving the active pet lineup would produce a clearer gain.

Protect your base while hidden

Before entering the yard, check which pets are visible in your pen and watch nearby routes. A long disguise attempt creates time for another player to approach your base. Choose a position that still lets you monitor movement and exit if a raid develops.

After leaving the disguise, return to the pen and confirm that the active lineup and displayed income are unchanged. If something differs, record it before starting another test.

Disguise mistakes

Choosing by payout alone

A high displayed reward is useless if the form is locked, conspicuous in that area, or the yard has no traffic.

Copying an unverified tell

Do not promise that one shadow, twitch, or label always reveals a player.

Waiting without a limit

Set a time and switch to hatching or raiding when the route is inactive.

Forgetting your own pen

Check your pets before and after disguising; other players can raid while you wait.

Disguise questions

Where do I change form?

Current walkthroughs show a green pipe in the playerโ€™s pen opening the disguise menu. Follow the current prompt because layout can change.

How do I earn money while disguised?

Community footage reports a payout when another player or bot buys the disguised egg. Verify the displayed payout and actual result in your server.

Can scanners detect me?

Scanners are presented as tools for checking whether eggs are real. Exact verdict behavior against players should be confirmed in the current build.

Which disguise is best?

No permanent best form was established. Compare unlocked forms using the current payout, surrounding egg mix, yard traffic, and repeatable session results.
