Pets are the cash engine and the main theft target in Fake an Egg. A hatched pet can appear in your pen, show an income rate, and compete for one of your active slots. A stolen pet only becomes useful after you carry it safely back to your own base. Because boosts, prefixes, Rebirth multipliers, feeder state, and active slots can all affect what you see, compare pets under the same conditions.
The official Roblox description confirms that stealing another player’s pet is part of the game. Names and rates beyond that premise come from dated community walkthroughs and must be checked in the current UI.

Learn how to equip petsRead the pet record, not just the name
A useful pet record includes the exact display name, any prefix such as GOLD or RAINBOW, the displayed income, whether that number is before or after boosts, the active-slot state, the source egg or theft route, and the UTC check date. Keep those fields together.
Two public observations put the Bunny at different rates. That does not justify picking the larger or newer number as a universal base value. The sessions may use different boosts or builds. Read your current value and note the feeder, Rebirth, event, and mutation state before comparing.

Best use: verify whether the prefix improves your active lineup.
Other pet names can follow the egg species shown by the current Index, but this guide does not claim a complete roster without live records. Use the Pet Index for the known list and leave unsupported fields blank.
Equip the pets that actually improve the total
Open the Pets menu and inspect the active count. Current walkthroughs show an EQUIP BEST action, individual equipment controls, displayed rates, and a slot counter. Use those labels as community-reported UI, then follow the current buttons on your device.
Before changing anything, note the total income. Equip one candidate or use Equip Best, then check which pets became active and whether the total changed. If a pet with a flashy prefix remains stored, it may not beat the current active rates—or the menu may rank by a rule you have not identified.
The Equipment Guide includes recovery steps for full slots, missing pets, and totals that do not update immediately.
Compare income under equal conditions
Use displayed cash per second rather than rarity alone. Keep feeder fill, Rebirth multiplier, event state, and active slot count unchanged. If the UI already displays a boosted rate, do not multiply it again in a calculator.
For a replacement decision, compare the old active pet’s rate with the candidate’s rate. The difference—not the candidate’s whole rate—is the extra income gained. If you paid for the egg, divide its cost by that incremental gain to estimate how long the upgrade takes to recover under constant conditions.
This estimate does not include theft risk, time spent carrying, hatch delay, offline rules, or a future update. The Income Guide shows the complete comparison workflow.
Protect and steal pets deliberately
The official premise makes pets vulnerable to theft. Position awareness matters: know the route from rival pens to your base, watch players who enter your pen, and avoid leaving your own collection unattended when a valuable pet is exposed. The exact defense tools and failure conditions need a live-server check.
When stealing, choose a pet whose benefit justifies the trip. Wait for a clear route, take the pet using the current interaction prompt, and return to your own pen. Community footage indicates the pet is secured only after reaching base. The How to Steal Pets page focuses on that route.
Use the Index and feeder together
A newly discovered pet may unlock an Index reward that requires a manual claim. Check the Index after each first hatch, then inspect your active lineup. The feeder can change pet income, so record its current multiplier before comparing two pets.
Do not assume that owning more pets always increases income. Current guides show limited active slots. Stored pets can still matter for the Index or future choices, but the active total depends on what is equipped.
Pet checklist after every hatch or theft
- Confirm the pet arrived in your pen or Pets inventory.
- Read its exact name and any prefix.
- Record the displayed rate and active boosts.
- Open the Index and claim any available reward.
- Check active slots and use the current equipment control.
- Compare the total before and after.
- Record the server date if you will publish the value.
Pet questions
What is the best pet?
There is no verified complete ranking. For income, the best owned pet is the one with the highest comparable displayed rate that fits an active slot. Collection and event goals can produce a different answer.
Do all owned pets earn cash?
Current community guides report limited active slots. Verify the Pets menu and active count; a stored pet should not be assumed to contribute.
Do prefixes have fixed multipliers?
The reviewed evidence shows labels such as GOLD and RAINBOW but does not establish a complete multiplier or stacking table. Use the displayed result.
